Featured Blog – Melissa Layton Photography – Halloween Post
We’ve been so fortunate to be blogging with Melissa Layton Photography since January 2013. Melissa is a a custom maternity, newborn, baby, children and family photographer located in Harleysville, PA. When I was looking through all the blogs that we have published together, I had SO MANY favorites. I love those studio newborn shoots, and Melissa is truly outstanding at capturing her unique style and the babies individual personalities each and every time. So I couldn’t choose which one I loved the most.
A few weeks ago, Melissa was a little late with some of her blogs, and she is NEVER late. No worries, we got them all up in time. She mentioned she was working on her boys Halloween costumes. I didn’t really think anything of it. Then she sent me some pictures of the costumes and mentioned she wanted to blog about it, just to have a record of all the work she did. I glanced at the pictures, then had to do a double-take. These costumes were AMAZING!
I was so happy she wanted to blog about it, because this is the perfect personal blog post. She included tidbits of her lives with her children, and showed how much she cares about them. Then by displaying these crazy awesome costumes, she showed her perspective clients how creative she is. The post included some of her professional images – ones of the boys in the studio modeling the costumes – and snapshots of her creating them. Relatable and yet still shows some examples of her as a photographer.
Make sure to go check it out, especially if you are a fan of Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy or Halo Soldiers. I had no idea what these things are, as my little guy is only 3, but I’m looking forward to some interesting Halloween costumes as he gets older. Melissa – you have set the bar high! Thank you for choosing us to help you blog. :- )

“This is such a busy time of year for myself and other photographers. I hate to admit that it always leaves little time for my family. I was really pleased that I took the time out of all the craziness of photography, galleries, and shooting to do something really special for my kids. They were so proud, they were beaming, and I’ll admit, I gave myself a little pat on the back . . . then I slept for 2 days.”
